DIRECTOR
Jyll has been directing and producing her documentaries through Canobie Films since 1993. She tends to focus on unheralded women characters. Her work has been featured at the Sundance Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival and the film festivals of Palm Springs, Toronto, San Francisco, Bologna, London and Hong Kong, as well as a variety of museums.
PRODUCER
Michael Arlen Davis has had a supporting role at Canobie Films since 1993. In the past 25 years, he has been engaged in a variety of businesses that span food and fiber, including organically-grown, naturally-colored cotton, sustainably-harvested timber, biodynamic agriculture, organic and wild-crafted herbs and microalgae.
DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Christian Figueroa is a Salvadoran Filmmaker based in San Francisco. His productions and interests as a Filmmaker are centered on social issues, such as representations of trauma, cultural identities and historical memory. He has a degree in in Civil Engineering and a Master of Fine Arts – Cinema Production from San Francisco State University. He’s also a newlywed.
PHOTOGRAPHER
Victoria is Canobie Film’s resident photographer; her photographs are seen throughout this website. She has a degree in graphic design and works professionally in the film industry. ‘Guerrilleras’, which she co-directed, includes both photography and a documentary film about the experience of guerrilla women during the Salvadoran Civil War. Born and raised in Argentina, Victoria recently moved to San Francisco for love.
SENIOR STRATEGIST
Andrea studied political science, economics, and business management, and built a career around new product research and strategy. Whenever she had time off from school or work, she immersed herself in the stories of films, books, and her friends. At Canobie, Andrea has a wide range of responsibilities relating to the films and the business.
